What does California law say about homeschooling?

  Yazareth1975 » Tue, 23 Mar 2021 22:49:41 PM

How are you all?emoji-happy We recently relocated to California and so we are looking for a teacher certified homeschool solution. We really don't want to waste time stitching together resources from many different places. Can parents homeschool in East Los Angeles, California? By the way, any reviews on the Lernsys program? Thanks in advance for any homeschool advice you can give.

Hey there,homeschool-placer Most definitely. You are entitled by law to homeschool in East Los Angeles, California, but make sure you meet the requirements required to be homeschooled in East Los Angeles, California. In reality, homeschooling in California is a right of parents established by the state and regulated by laws. It requires not too much government requirements. Parents homeschooling in California are free to choose many of the elements they find fit for their child to study but must cover some required subjects as well. A parent teaching their child at home is not required by law to be licensed as a teacher in California. However, homeschooling with curriculum developed by a state licensed teacher is highly advisable even if the licensed educator is not a California teacher. In California, the homeschool laws and regulations are few compared to other states which might require frequent evaluation or annual testing.
