ABC Match and Learn Phonics for Early Childhoood Pre-K to Grade 2
Course Overview
This course contains more than one year worth of weekly lesson. This course contains guided instructions in phonics, reading and writing skills for grades Pre-K to Grade 2. This course is also a supplemental program for English as a Second Language (ESL). This course has an emphasis on helping early childhood learners, beginning readers, struggling learners, and English language learners. The purpose of this course is to develop fundamental minds and language skills, improve the learning process, and become proficient and independent learner. The skills included in this course are letter recognition and sound identification, picture association, vocabulary and comprehension, spelling, alphabetical order knowledge and reading rhyming words and simple sentences. These skills allow learners to link their letter and sound knowledge into their spoken words knowledge so that they can begin to decode words on their own.

Course Goals
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
- Identify different objects and match them with the correct words
- Identify the beginning letter and sound of each word
- Identify the ending letter and sound of each word
- Identify words with short vowel sounds and the long vowel sounds
- Master blending and segmenting long and difficult words
- Spell words correctly
- Put words in alphabetical order
- Read rhyming words independently
- Answer comprehension questions
- Read simple sentences
- Write simple sentences

Course Requirements
There are no pre-requisite to taking this course. This course is best taken in sequence to help learners build a strong language foundation, gain academic knowledge, and apply study skills to succeed in class.
