Course Description

Instead of learning just vocabulary lists and grammar, we will learn how to use Spanish to learn about each other. We begin with the home: chores, daily routines, and house descriptions. Second, we will learn about vacations, including weather phrases, vacation activities, and clothing. In our third unit, we focus on health, including accidents, injuries, sicknesses, and health advice. Finally, we take a trip back in time to our childhood, learning about each other's toys, pets, and holiday celebrations. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Are you getting enough sleep? What should you do if you feel sick or get hurt? What was your favorite toy or pet as a child? By the end of this course, you should be able to answer these questions about yourself and understand when other people tell you about themselves. Course Goals

Upon completing this course, students will be able to understand and share information about their daily lives, including morning routines, chores, their home, vacations, accidents, injuries, childhood activities, toys, pets, and holidays.

Target Audience

The course is designed for 10th grade students or anyone who has successfully completed Spanish 1 or another introductory Spanish class. The difficulty level of this class is medium-low to medium.

Course Requirements

Students taking this course are expected to demonstrate mastery of the content and skills covered at the novice-high level, as described by ACTFL world language standards.
