1 Introduction to Course 01:51

This is a small preview that explains what the course will cover.

2 Systems of Equations with Two Variables 10:43

This video will cover how to solve systems of equatios with two variables by using the substitution and elimination method. This prior knowledge is needed in order to complete the course.

3 Systems of Equations with Two Variables Review 18:23

This video will review some problems from the review.

4 Substitution (Three Variables) 24:37

This lesson will demonstrate how to use the substitution method to solve systems of equations with three variables. There will be a quiz over the substitution method. The homework will give practice over the substitution method. If you are having problems, there is a short video to walk you through a couple of problems from the homework sheet.

5 Substitution (Three Variables) Review 41:51

This video will review some problems from the review.

6 Elimination (Three Variables) 25:46

This lesson will cover how to solve systems of equations using the elimination method. The homework will be used for practice on solving systems of equations using the elimination method. The homework video will cover a couple of questions from the homework if you need additional help.

7 Elimination (Three Variables) Review 37:04

This video will review some problems from the review.

8 Word Problems using Systems of Equations with 3 Variables 19:37

This lesson will cover how to solve word problems by using systems of equations with three variables. The homework will be practice over word problems. There will be a short quiz over the eliminiation method AND word problems. There is an additional video that will cover a problem from the homework, if needed.

9 Word Problems using Systems of Equations with 3 Variables Review 31:10

This video will review some problems from the review.

10 Introduction to Matrices 25:35

This video will introduce matrices for the first time. You will cover how to name matrices, identify elements, add and subtract matrices, and multiply matrices by a scalar.

11 Introduction to Matrices Review 13:06

This video will review some problems from the review.

12 Optional Test 00:00

This test will cover the lessons over systems of equations ONLY.

Course Description

This course will cover different methods of solving systems of equations. It will start with basic two variable systems and progress to three variable systems. The three variable systems of equations will be the majority of the course. Two methods will be taught and reviewed. You will also see applications of systems of equations through word problems. The course will end with a brief introduction for matrices, another application for systems of equations.

Course Goals

Upon completion, the student will have an understanding of how to solve systems of equations using a variety of different methods. The student will also understand how to apply solving systems of equations to real-world problems.

Target Audience

This course is targeted towards 10th and 11th graders. It is mainly for students taking Algebra II.
