Course Overview

This second and third grade grammar course covers all of the grammar content that students will need to be successful in second grade, or as a review for third grade. It follows along the common core guidelines and requirements for second grade so that students will be prepared for third grade.

Course Goals:

Upon course completion, students will be able to write and speak using correct grammar. They will also be able to capture their audience’s attention when writing a story and be able to identify the meaning of unknown words they encounter in text.

Target Audience:

This video course is primarily intended for those entering second grade. However, this course would be a great refresher for third graders, or a great preview of second grade for a first grader.

Course Requirements:

This course requires students to be reading at a second grade reading level or above. If you are using this course to further a first grader, make sure that they are able to keep up with second grade reading since we will be reading a writing sentences.

I am a passionate person who LOVES teaching. I have taught second grade for 5 years at a STEM elementary school. Second grade is my favorite grade to teach! My goal as a teacher is to encourage and motivate all students to succeed. My personal style of teaching is through hands on lessons that gets students up and moving. I strongly believe that students learn best and can better retain information if they are up and moving. I have done extensive amounts of training on differentiating instruction. I know that all students are meant to learn and as a teacher its my job to help them be successful in school any way that I can!
