Homeschooling in Texas is considered one of the best places to homeschool in the U.S. as it requires virtually no government control. Parents in Texas are free to decide most of the things they find fit for their child to study. A parent or guardian homeschooling their child at home is not required by law to be licensed as a teacher in Texas. Having said this, using curriculum developed by a state licensed teacher is highly recommended even if the licensed teacher is not a Texas teacher.
