Help finding secular Texas history curriculum

  Sabina_study » Thu, 06 Aug 2020 03:35:41 AM

Hey,homeschool-placer We have researched the homeschool program by Lernsys and I am actually impressed emoji-happy. Although we are actually a Christian practicing family we believe that the material we give our kiddo should be secular. If the history curriculum or history material matches Texas's curriculum it would also be great but I guess it doesn't have to. Would you say Lernsys offers good curriculum for history? Can someone point me in the correct direction?

Welcome!homeschool-placer I think you may want to also consider history courses that are accredited at the national level instead than being based on Texas's curriculum. Most students end up applying to many universities including out of state. You can see some history video lessons here: grade 8 american revolution. In other words, the history course doesn't have to necessarily be by a Texas teacher.

I get you are searching for an accredited Texas history curriculum notwithstanding this, I think I would probably take a quick look at a secular history curriculum or history lessons that are by either state or nationally certified by the govt teachers. It doesn't need to be specific to Texas. I can definitely recommend the Lernsys program for homeschooling.

My recommendation if you need a secular history course (one that is not based on Christian doctrine) for Texas, is to check out the courses listed here: grade 8 american revolution.
