Hello there.study Homeschooling is permitted by law in New Jersey, but you are required to meet several conditions before beginning to homeschool. Homeschooling in New Jersey is believed to be one of the best places to homeschool in the America as it requires virtually no government regulations. Parents in New Jersey are free to decide many of the items they deem appropriate for their students to learn. A parent or guardian teaching their students elsewhere than at school is not forced by law to be certified as a teacher in New Jersey. Nevertheless, using curriculum developed by a state licensed teacher is highly recommended even if the licensed teacher is not a New Jersey teacher. If a parent or guardian makes the decision to pull a public school student from his/her educational program, the parent/guardian will be required to provide atransfer form which includes information related to the decision to provide instruction elsewhere than at school for the purposes of collecting relevant data on publicly funded school enrollment. The letter of intent should be sent at the start of the school year to the school board where the student was previously registered and attending.

New Jersey authorizes parents to homeschool under certain conditions. Families have basically only one requirement to homeschool in New Jersey. It is advised to send your letter of intent to homeschool via certified mail. The local board of education in New Jersey is not required to establish a record for a child who is educated elsewhere than at school. If the board of education receives a NOI from the parent/guardian of a child educated elsewhere than at school, the board may create a record for the homeschooled student for the sole purpose of documenting that the homeschooled child is receiving an education as required by law.
