Homeschoolers and school services in New Jersey. Can someone help?

We've made the decision this month to homeschool my child using an online homeschool program who is in grade 2. Can homeschoolers access certain school services in New Jersey? I appreciate any feedback!

Hi. New Jersey law doesn't make it mandatory for public schools to make available services to homeschooled children. The public school system in New Jersey is not mandated by law to provide some services to homeschoolers in New Jersey. The individual school districts and schools are free to decide this. These services can include: participating in events, groups, or athletics upon prior contact with the local school board to confirm attainability. Upon approval by the local school board, the homeschooled child is allowed to participate in extracurricular activities such as physical education, band and drivers ed which may be available in specific regions. This page lists a lot of good facts on homeschooling in New Jersey:

Not under New Jersey law but several school services might be accessible to homeschooling families in New Jersey. Some services may be available if the school district permits it. We are very happy to have chosen Lernsys for our homeschooling needs. Their program includes all the material we need.
