Hi!emoji-happy Parents in Michigan get to determine when their homeschooled student will graduate and proceed to issue a diploma upon graduation. Homeschoolers in Michigan are not required by law to undertake any examination to graduate. Parents in Michigan are at liberty to include what they deem pertinent to military, future workplace organizations and colleges in creating their students transcripts. Homeschooled students meet graduation requirements upon determination by the parent. A parent may choose to assign credits to individual courses undertaken in the course of the homeschooling session. You probably may want to have a look at the following page which contains specific information on Michigan homeschool laws and regulations:

Homeschooled students in Michigan meet graduation requirement upon determination by the parent. As a matter of law, compulsory attendance of a student until the age of 17 is required in Michigan and after that, parents are at liberty to determine the criteria for when the high schooler will receive a diploma. Best of luck with your homeschool initiatives!

All fifty states including Michigan allow a parent to issue a homeschool diploma for their own child. Employers in Michigan are not allowed to discriminate against a homeschool diploma or give preference to a diploma issued by a public school. Colleges and universities are usually far more interested in a student's entrance exam scores (like SAT's, some colleges may have their own separate tests) than in how they learned what they know. Many colleges and universities in Michigan and elsewhere actively make an effort to recruit homeschooled students.
