Good morning,emoji-happy We recently moved back to Michigan. What records are homeschoolers required to keep in Michigan? Any pointers where I should look for this information? emoji-happy

Hey.emoji-happy It is not a requirement by law for homeschoolers in Michigan to keep records, but it is deemed substantially appropriate and valuable to create a homeschooling portfolio for your child’s progress year to year. This information is crucial when it comes to creating a high school transcript for future college or career needs and in the event the homeschooler needs to return to school for any reason. As a parent, you might want to consider things worth keeping record of. We have got a few suggestions for you: • For any standardized tests taken, keep record of the scores • The grades by subject achieved by the student as well the report cards • The subject work undertaken at each grade level • Other achievements of the students including extracurricular activities he/she participated in • Any volunteer service the student undertook while homeschooling

Homeschool recordkeeping in Michigan is not a requirement by Michigan law. I am happy to have chosen Lernsys for my son's homescholing needs.
