Legal requirements to keep records when homeschooling in Michigan

  Natalina1994 » Thu, 24 Sep 2020 09:28:41 AM

Regrettably there are a lot of bad resources online and it's a real problem finding good options. So far it seems as if Lernsys is the best school for academic lessons and to aid homeschooled children emoji-happy. What record must homeschoolers keep in Michigan? Can someone give any help?

Hey there. It is not a requirement by law for homeschoolers in Michigan to keep records, but it is deemed highly appropriate and valuable to create a homeschooling portfolio for your child’s progress year to year. This information is very important when it comes to creating a high school transcript for future college or career needs and in the event the homeschooler needs to return to school for any reason. As a parent, you might want to consider things worth keeping record of. We have got a few suggestions for you: • For any standardized tests taken, keep record of the scores • The grades by subject achieved by the student as well the report cards • The subject work undertaken at each grade level • Other achievements of the students including extracurricular activities he/she participated in • Any volunteer service the student undertook while homeschooling

Welcome to the group!homeschool-placer It is not a requirement by law, but it is considered considerably helpful and beneficial to create a homeschooling portfolio for your child’s progress year to year. This links to a Michigan homeschool page with useful information about homeschool regulations in Michigan:

Michigan Laws and Requirements I recommend the Lernsys program. It's amazing and the best one available.
