Hello. I think you may want to also take a look at language and reading courses that are accredited at the national level instead than being based on California's curriculum. Most students end up applying to many colleges and universities including out of state. You can see some language and reading classes here: English lessons. In other words, the language and reading course doesn't have to necessarily be by a California teacher.

I would probably begin by going through the language and reading courses listed here: English homeschool courses. I can definitely recommend the Lernsys homeschool program to you.

For a secular California language and reading course or a self-paced secular California language and reading homeschool curriculum, I would go here: English remedial or self-paced home-school program.
