Hello there.emoji-happy Parents in Alberta get to decide when their homeschooled student will graduate and then give the children a diploma upon graduation. Homeschoolers in Alberta are not required by law to undertake any test to graduate. Parents in Alberta are able to include what they find relevant to military, future workplace organizations and colleges when creating their student's transcripts. Homeschooled students in Alberta meet graduation requirements upon determination by the parent. A parent may choose to assign credits to individual courses undertaken during the course of the homeschooling session. SECTION 6 Home Education Regulations also states that: "On the recommendation of a school principal, a student receiving a home education program that follows the Alberta Programs of Study is eligible to receive high school credits if the student achieves the course standards and learning outcomes set out in the Alberta Programs Study." You probably may want to have a look at the following page which provides specific guidance on Alberta homeschool laws and regulations:

With few exceptions, all 10 provinces including Alberta permit a parent to award a homeschool diploma for their own child. Employers in Alberta are not permitted to discriminate against a homeschool diploma or give preference to a person whose diploma awarded by a public school. Many schools in Alberta and elsewhere actively make an effort to recruit homeschooled students.

The eligibility criteria in Alberta for the GED is the same for homeschoolers as well as public school students. Section 6 of the Home Education Regulations also provides that a student receiving a home education program that follows the Alberta Programs of Study is eligible to receive high school credits if the student achieves the course standards and learning outcomes.
