Homeschooling and access to school services in Alberta

Can my homeschooled child access school services in Brooks, Alberta? If I could get some reviews on the homeschool program and the best Alberta homeschool co-ops I would be very thankful.

Hi!study Not by law. Unfortunately, the law in Alberta doesn't require publicly funded schools to provide services to homeschoolers. In Alberta the public school system isn't required by law to provide certain services to homeschoolers. Homeschooled students may be able to participate in extracurricular activities of the local school whenever there is a chance as well as other academic programs they may choose. Parents must make a request to the local school to find out whether the child will be eligible to participate in the upcoming school year.

By law, homeschooled students aren't automatically given access to certain school services in Alberta. You have to check with the local school or school district to see if some services could be available to homeschooled students but you have to check with the school. Feel free to reply back if you need other home schooling advice.

Alberta law doesn't make it obligatory for schools to make available services to homeschooling families. Some services could be available if the school district permits it.
