COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR LIFE SCIENCE

COURSE OVERVIEW: This 7th grade Life Science course covers all the content necessary to understand life and life science.  Students successfully completing this course will have the prerequisite knowledge to take a high school Biology class.  This is a full year's seventh grade Life Science course.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:

COURSE GOALS:  Upon completion of this course students will understand what living organisms are and how they are classified. In addition, they will know the characteristics of all the major taxonomic groups.  Students will know what all the major human body systems are and how they function.  Students will also understand the basics of ecology, the biosphere and what the Earth's major biomes are and the characteristics of those biomes.

TARGET AUDIENCE: 7th grade, but could be used for 8th grade and advanced 6th grade students.
