Must I keep records of my homeschooling in Texas? If anybody can provide any opinions on the program and any specific Texas homeschool group I would be very thankful. Thanks in advance for any home schooling advice you can provide.

Hello. It is not mandated by law for homeschooled students in Texas to keep records ,however, it is considered considerably appropriate and valuable to maintain a homeschooling portfolio for your child’s progress for each grade. This information is very important when it comes to developing a high school transcript for future college or career needs or in the event the homeschooler needs to return to school in the future.
As a parent, you may want to consider things worth maintaining a record of. A few recommendations for you:
• For any standardized tests taken, keep record of the scores
• The grades by subject gotten by the children
• The subject materials covered at each grade level
• Other achievements of the children including extracurricular activities the children participated in
• Any volunteer work the student spent while homeschooling

Homeschool recordkeeping in Texas is not a requirement by law. The Lernsys homeschool program is super fun. We love it!
